A Journey of Inclusive Learning and Sustainability at K.C Vishwakarma School

In the bustling community of Harkesh Nagar, Okhla, Winter Camp 2024 at K.C. Vishwakarma School brought together creativity, education, and community spirit under the transformative initiative ‘निरक्षरता से साक्षरता, साक्षरता से कुशलता.’ This program focused on Inclusive Learning, empowering students with skills in literacy, creativity, and environmental responsibility, all while encouraging a balanced and mindful lifestyle.

Inclusive Learning: Bridging Gaps

This program introduced Inclusive Learning strategies to ensure personalized learning for each student. With specially designed worksheets and engaging learning sessions, students had the opportunity to explore academic content tailored to their needs, making learning accessible and meaningful.

Book Club: 1 Book, 20 Readers

One of the core activities of the camp was the Book Club, based on the theme 1 Book, 20 Readers. Students gathered to read a single book together, fostering teamwork, communication, and shared learning. The book club discussions also enhanced reading comprehension and public speaking skills, ensuring every child’s voice was heard.

Yoga Club: योग से ही होगा

The Yoga Club with theme योग से ही होगा played a central role in promoting the overall wellness of students by incorporating physical fitness and mindfulness techniques. Each student received a yoga mat, which encouraged consistent practice as part of a healthy daily routine. Throughout the sessions, students learned a variety of yoga poses, practiced mantra chanting, and engaged in meditation, all of which helped instill mindfulness and emphasized the importance of maintaining both physical and mental health. Additionally, interactive yoga quizzes tested students’ knowledge of yoga and fitness, while yoga aerobics sessions kept them active and engaged, blending fun with fitness in a holistic way.

Art Club: Mindfulness Through Art Therapy

In the *Art Club, students explored therapeutic art activities like *Mandala Art and Quilling Art, which not only stimulated creativity but also promoted emotional well-being. These art therapy activities allowed students to express themselves, unwind, and develop a deeper sense of mindfulness.

Eco Club: Sustainability in Action

The Eco Club took center stage with hands-on sustainability initiatives. Students participated in a Pot- Plantation activity and talk on Eco-consciousness, and engaged in Recycling workshop and a Ted Talk on Environmental responsibility, where they learned the importance of waste management. Students also participated in The Notebook Project – अपशिष्ट पुनःचक्रण से साकार, शिक्षा का उपहार, an ongoing initiative by AAPL CSR. As part of the project, participants discarded their used notebooks into designated recycling bins and, in exchange, received theme-based notebooks. This initiative emphasized the importance of recycling, instilling eco-conscious values in young learners.
