Blending Creativity, Wellness, and Environmental Responsibility — A Transformative 4-Day Camp for Community Engagement

From 3rd to 6th June 2025, the vibrant campus of KC Vishwakarma Public School, Harkesh Nagar, Okhla became a beacon of learning, creativity, and conscious living as it hosted the R2E: Recycling 2 Education Summer Camp under The Notebook Project: अपशिष्ट पुनः चक्रण से साकार, शिक्षा का उपहार. Organised by अथक प्रयास सतत विकास, this summer initiative was a unique fusion of art, awareness, wellness, and waste-to-wisdom action—fostering a lasting impact on both students and the community.

A Camp with Purpose and Creativity

The 4-day camp was designed to provide a holistic summer learning experience. The carefully curated activities nurtured emotional, mental, and physical well-being while building awareness around sustainability and education equity. Key activities included:

🎨 Art Therapy & Creativity: Students participated in Mandala Art, Poster Making, and Quilling, allowing them to express their inner thoughts through color and design.

🌿 Green Steps: Children learned simple daily habits for sustainable living, turning them into green warriors.

🧘 Yoga for Wellness: Yoga sessions promoted mindfulness and physical health.

🌍 World Environment Day Celebration (June 5): Marked with plantation activity and poster-making focused on environmental themes.

Health, Hygiene & Recycling Initiatives

♻️ Paper Scrap Collection Drive
Students brought paper scrap from their homes and participated in the R2E exchange model—receiving new notebooks and creative supplies in return.

Health & Hygiene Awareness
A dedicated session on menstrual health empowered young girls with information on maintaining a healthy cycle. Hygiene kits were distributed to support them further.

🎁 Participation Kits Distribution
Each student received a well-curated kit including notebooks, art supplies, stationery, mandala books, and potted plant.

🏅 Recognition & Appreciation
Students who actively participated throughout the 4-day workshop received certificates of appreciation along with the kit. Teachers and volunteers were also acknowledged and rewarded for their enthusiastic involvement and mentorship.
