Community Outreach Initiative Promoting the Zero Waste Model with Sankalp Organisation

As part of its Community Outreach Program, the Sankalp Organisation organized a meaningful Art Therapy Workshop at Azadpur to celebrate Independence Day 2025. The workshop beautifully blended creativity, mindfulness, and sustainability, creating a joyful space for young minds to express themselves beyond screens.

The initiative aimed to promote mindfulness, digital detox, creativity, and reduced screen time, while encouraging students to engage in hands-on, thoughtful activities. A total of 66 students participated enthusiastically, making the workshop a vibrant and inspiring celebration of freedom through art.

Participants explored a wide range of creative activities, including:

  • Poster Making
  • Mandala Art
  • Colouring
  • Card & Bookmark Making
  • Essay Writing and Quiz

Each activity provided students with a platform to express their thoughts, emotions, and patriotic spirit using colours, patterns, and words. To encourage and appreciate their participation, all students received an art file and colour kit as a participatory reward, motivating them to continue their creative journeys.

The workshop also aligned with sustainability goals. It was organized alongside Sankalp’s paper scrap collection drive, conducted under a Zero Waste Model within their university. The initiative highlighted the importance of community outreach, environmental responsibility, and sustainable practices, reinforcing the message that creativity and care for the planet can go hand in hand.

A special note of gratitude goes to Ms. Beryl and Ms. Rishita for their dedication, hard work, and seamless coordination in organizing the workshop and ensuring its success.

The R2E Art Therapy Workshop at Azadpur served as a powerful reminder that freedom is not only celebrated through flags and ceremonies, but also through mindful expression, creativity, and collective responsibility towards the community and the environment.
